First Progress Report
School is going well so far this year. I'm immersed in technology in my classes. The Electronic Experiences class is learning piano on electronic keyboards. The Journalism classes have already started using the cameras and are also learning Photoshop Elements software for editing. The Broadcast students have begun storyboarding for their first projects and have learned to use the PhotoBooth software on our Mac computers. I have also used several different short movies off of BrainPop. The students enjoy the short videos that explain things like musical symbols or how a camera works. I'm making a conscious effort this year to include more video in my lessons to keep the students focused on what they are to do. So far so good.

Back in Session
School is back in session and I'm excited to get things going in my new classes. All of my classes this year will by definition be heavy technology users. I'm excited that we are getting a lot of new equipment at school due to our district technology grant. I'm hoping to get enough time with it to really incorporate it into my classes. I have more students than I've ever had in a year, so that will be a challenge for me, but it also gives me the opportunity to work with two of my passions, journalism and piano. Now if I can just learn everyone's name, I'll be in business.
